Resting between the two great spires of Bahl Faldihr lays a miracle of modern engineering, the gatekeeper to the city, the clockwork guardian. The mechanical dragon, know amongst the residents as FAITH (Fully Autonomous Interconnected Terror Housing),
keeps a watchful eye over the entrance to the city of innovation and science. Her creators, early Faldihrai engineers, initially built the beast as a stationary fixture as a way to ward off interlopers, protecting the city from the zealous followers of the gods they did not follow.
Over time, FAITH was modified and upgraded to better suit the needs of the modern times, given the necessary parts to detect anomalies in the atmosphere, scan incoming shipments from the airships arriving above and the trading caravans below.
Though a planned upgrade to give FAITH the ability to fly was budgeted and approved, work on the project has yet to commence.
Once, when an Ambassador from Restinu was visiting the City of Two Spires, he asked the Faldihrai Council how they expected to defend themselves from attackers and protect the shipments coming from the Markinian capitol without an army, the leader simply replied, “We have FAITH.”
